History
World Travel was founded in 1983 by Festivals of Music. Our parent company
still provides educational music tours to Junior/Senior High Schools. World
Travel became a reality when our business model was expanded to include
Corporate Travel. We have been conducting business under the same privately held
ownership for more than 25 years. The company's structure is broken down into
three operating units, 80% corporate travel, 10% group travel, and 10% vacation
travel and each unit is headed by a Vice President.
The driving force behind our success is President, James A. Wells, Senior
Vice President, Liz Mandarino, and a highly service oriented, experienced
executive team. Since 1983, World Travel has grown from a one office $500,000
company to our present size of five reservation centers, seventy-five plus
in-house branch offices, ninety-two additional ticket locations throughout the
United States, and total sales representing approximately $550 million. During
this time period our staff has increased concurrently from 2 to over 400
dedicated travel professionals of which over 300 are reservationists.
World Travel holds appointments from (ARC), Airline Reporting Corporation,
(IATA), International Air Transport Association, as well as many other well
known associations such as (ASTA) American Society of Travel Agents, (CLIA)
Cruise Lines International Association and (PATA), Pacific Asia Travel
Association.
